A Minnesota homecoming celebration has become a new battleground in the debate over crime and bail after the teenager accused of opening fire was released from jail just two days after his arrest.
Adam Abdihakeem Adam, 18, was released Saturday evening after posting bond, according to Hennepin County jail records reviewed by News Outlet.
Authorities allege Adam shot two teenagers outside Eden Prairie High School during the Oct. 2 homecoming football game, forcing officials to evacuate the stadium.
The decision to release him drew criticism from President Donald Trump’s Rapid Response 47 account, which cited police claims that the shooting was connected to rival Somali gangs.
“A Radical Left judge immediately granted him a no-condition bail,” the account said in a post on X.
Jail records show a $100,000 bail or bond option with no conditions. Adam was released at 7:04 p.m. Oct. 10. He has been charged with two felony counts of second-degree assault involving a dangerous weapon and one count of second-degree riot while armed with a dangerous weapon. His next court hearing is set for Monday afternoon.

The shooting wounded an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old, according to Eden Prairie police, who launched a multi-agency search for those responsible.
Charging documents cited by affiliate FOX 9 Minneapolis say the confrontation began when two cars pulled into a parking lot and a fight involving roughly 10 people erupted. The driver of one vehicle allegedly stepped out, fired at the victims and then fled.
Investigators identified Adam as the alleged shooter and said he had been driving his brother’s car. According to the outlet, detectives tracked his phone in connection with the vehicle before, during and after the shooting. He allegedly discarded the phone and changed his number afterward.

A search of Adam’s St. Louis Park residence reportedly uncovered clothing that matched what surveillance footage showed the shooter wearing, according to the charges cited by FOX 9.
Police arrested Adam without incident on Oct. 8 near Highway 55 and Penn Avenue in Minneapolis.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office said detectives from its Auto Theft Task Force and West Metro Drug Task Force worked with officers from St. Louis Park and Hopkins to safely box in the vehicle.
“I’m incredibly proud of our officers and investigators who have worked nonstop alongside our law enforcement partners to identify those responsible and hold them accountable,” Eden Prairie Police Chief Matt Sackett said following the arrest.

The investigation has also fueled broader concern about Somali gang-related violence across the metro area. Regional public safety agencies have begun meeting under the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to share intelligence and coordinate investigations aimed at preventing additional shootings, police leaders said.
Michele Tafoya, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, cited the homecoming shooting and other recent incidents last week as she warned that more Minnesotans feel increasingly unsafe.

“Our law enforcement here are calling it out as the product of Somali gang violence, and we’ve got to identify it, and we have to find a way to deal with it,” Tafoya told News Outlet.
Eden Prairie police also are investigating an Oct. 5 shots-fired incident at a Speedway gas station, where no injuries were reported. Investigators said they have not identified a connection between that incident and the homecoming shooting.
Sackett said the homecoming investigation remains active, with additional arrests or charges possible.
