A Minnesota homecoming celebration turned violent when gunfire erupted outside a high school, and the case has quickly become part of the broader debate over crime and bail after the accused shooter was released just two days after his arrest.
Adam Abdihakeem Adam, 18, was released Saturday evening after posting bond, according to Hennepin County jail records reviewed by Fox News Digital.
Eden Prairie police allege that Adam shot two teenagers outside Eden Prairie High School during the school’s Oct. 2 homecoming football game, forcing officials to evacuate the stadium.
The release drew criticism from President Donald Trump’s Rapid Response 47 account, which cited police statements that characterized the shooting as connected to rival Somali gangs.
“A Radical Left judge immediately granted him a no-condition bail,” the account said in a post on X.
Jail records show a $100,000 bail-or-bond option with no listed conditions. Adam was released at 7:04 p.m. on Oct. 10. He faces two felony counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, along with one count of second-degree riot while armed with a dangerous weapon.
His next court hearing is set for Monday afternoon.
The shooting left an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old injured and triggered a coordinated search involving multiple law enforcement agencies, Eden Prairie police said.
According to charging documents cited by affiliate FOX 9 Minneapolis, the confrontation began when two vehicles entered a parking lot and a fight involving roughly 10 people broke out. The driver of one vehicle allegedly stepped out, fired at the victims and escaped.

Authorities identified Adam as the alleged driver and said he may have been using his brother’s car. Investigators reportedly tracked his phone and the vehicle before, during and after the shooting. He allegedly later discarded the phone and changed his number.
A search of Adam’s St. Louis Park residence uncovered clothing that investigators said matched what the shooter was wearing in surveillance footage, according to the charges cited by FOX 9.
Officers arrested Adam without incident on Oct. 8 near Highway 55 and Penn Avenue in Minneapolis.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office said detectives from its Auto Theft Task Force and West Metro Drug Task Force, working with officers from St. Louis Park and Hopkins, safely boxed in the vehicle.
“I’m incredibly proud of our officers and investigators who have worked nonstop alongside our law enforcement partners to identify those responsible and hold them accountable,” Eden Prairie Police Chief Matt Sackett said following the arrest.
The case has also heightened concern over alleged Somali gang-related violence in the metro area. Regional public safety agencies have met under the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension’s coordination, with police leaders saying they are exchanging intelligence and aligning investigations to help prevent additional shootings.
Republican U.S. Senate candidate Michele Tafoya cited the homecoming shooting and other recent incidents last week as she warned that more Minnesotans are feeling unsafe.
“Our law enforcement here are calling it out as the product of Somali gang violence, and we’ve got to identify it, and we have to find a way to deal with it,” Tafoya told Fox News Digital.
Eden Prairie police are separately investigating an Oct. 5 shooting at a Speedway gas station. No one was injured, and investigators said they have found no connection between that incident and the homecoming shooting.
Sackett said the investigation into the homecoming shooting remains active and that more arrests or charges could follow.
