A soccer player was slashed in the face during a heated argument with a rival at a Bronx park, police said Sunday.
The two men were playing soccer in St. Mary’s Park when a verbal dispute escalated near Trinity Avenue and East 147th Street at about 7:35 p.m. July 13 in Mott Haven, according to police.
The suspect allegedly slashed the other man in the head before fleeing the park.
Emergency medical personnel took the injured player to NYC Health+Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD said the victim did not know the name of his attacker.

Police released details of the incident and surveillance images of the suspect Sunday afternoon. He was described as being between 18 and 22 years old, with a medium complexion, long black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing an orange shirt, brown shorts and gold shoes.
Surveillance video shows the suspect running from the area after the attack.
