San Diego Comic-Con brings 'Phineas and Ferb' cast and fans together for heartwarming moment at signing

SAN DIEGO — For a show that’s been around for 18 years, “Phineas and Ferb’s” fanbase is livelier than ever.

The animated series initially aired on Disney Channel in 2007, continuing for four seasons and two films before entering a lengthy break. This summer, it introduced a new season, captivating a fresh wave of enthusiastic viewers.

On The Red Carpet caught up with the cast and creators of the show at their signing at San Diego Comic-Con.

“The affection from the fans for this series, which I have been involved with for 18 years, is incredible… I’ve portrayed Phineas from the very start of ‘Phineas and Ferb,’ and the reception we continue to receive is nothing short of amazing,” expressed Vincent Martella, who began voicing Phineas at the age of 13.

One “Phineas and Ferb” fan, who travelled all the way from Milwaukee, WI, shared his heartwarming story with us.

“‘Phineas and Ferb’ holds a special place in my heart. When the show first aired, my mom was fighting cancer, and with her restricted mobility, we frequently watched it together on the couch. Even when I wasn’t around, she’d text me, ‘What’cha doin’?’ shared Josh Albrecht. “Now, as a father myself, I have an 8-year-old. Watching the show together with him brings everything full circle.”

Albrecht told us he was able to share his story to the cast and creators.

“Getting to meet Dan (Povenmire) and ‘Swampy’ (Marsh) and the rest of them that made all of this was truly special. Just how the show has evolved, and yet touched so many people’s lives and become so important to so many families, it was just a really cool conversation.”

“Phineas and Ferb” is streaming now on Disney+.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Disney Channel, Disney+ and this ABC station.
