Chicago crime: $10K reward offered for tips in West Englewood arson on S. Paulina Ave. that killed 4, including 2 foster children

In the West Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, Cook County Crime Stoppers, alongside local police, intensified their efforts on Wednesday to gather information regarding a tragic arson incident. The authorities distributed flyers at the intersection of 62nd Street and Paulina Avenue, hoping to generate leads with the promise of a $10,000 reward.

According to investigators, the fire was deliberately ignited outside a residence last month, resulting in the loss of four lives. The victims were identified as a couple and their two foster children.

Family members have expressed their deep sorrow and determination for justice. “Their lives were snuffed out. You know, they were murdered, and so we’re just asking… help us out,” stated Eleanor Wilson, a relative of the deceased. “We’re just trying to get justice.”

The devastating fire, which authorities have classified as arson, claimed the lives of Lisa Brown, her husband Reginald Wilson, and their foster children, 15-year-old Ja’Quan Rattler and his 8-year-old sister Royalty Rattler, two weeks ago.

“Their lives were snuffed out. You know, they were murdered, and so we’re just asking… help us out,” said Eleanor Wilson, a relative of the victims. “We’re just trying to get justice.”

“I’m really going to miss them, and now they in heaven,” relative Demetrius Flowers said.

Cook County Crime Stoppers is now offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who set the fire. Authorities released an image of a person of interest, captured on a doorbell camera.

“If you’re not man enough to stand up and take responsibility for what you did, then somebody is going to turn you in for $10,000, and we’re going to help make that happen,” 15th Ward Ald. Raymond Lopez said.

Relatives say Brown and Wilson for years fostered children in the community and were known for their kindness and generosity

“They good parents to other people’s kids,” relative Frank Wilson said. “They did everything for the community. They helped everybody.”

“Reggie and Lisa took in the neighborhood,” Eleanor Wilson said. “It did not matter if you needed money, if you needed somewhere to sleep.”
