During Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” actress Rosie O’Donnell argued that the United States is facing a national emergency, saying “fascism” has arrived under President Donald Trump.
O’Donnell said she has not been silent on social media and has continued to speak out against Trump, criticizing what she described as “blatant criminal behavior” in the White House. She also pointed to his years on “The Celebrity Apprentice,” claiming the show helped create a loyal following that, in her view, overlooks his conduct. O’Donnell said she never expected the country to reach a point where someone with what she called a “horrible” reputation could lead the nation, adding that she believes his presidency is “the worst thing that ever happened to the United States” and warning that the country must “wake up soon” before it is too late.
She went on to say, “It is an emergency. It’s not like fascism might come here. Fascism has already arrived.”
