Actress Selma Blair was released on bond Monday night after being arrested over an alleged confrontation with flight attendants aboard a Delta flight traveling from Los Angeles to New York, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Port Authority police responded Sunday night to reports of a physically abusive passenger on Delta Flight 938. The aircraft had arrived from Los Angeles International Airport and was parked at the gate at John F. Kennedy International Airport when officers were called, officials said.
Blair was identified as the passenger taken into custody after the alleged altercation. She was then transported to Jamaica Hospital for treatment, according to sources familiar with the case who spoke with ABC News.
A judge arraigned Blair Monday evening and released her on bond. Shortly afterward, she left the courthouse alongside her attorneys.
In a statement to ABC News, Blair’s representative said the actress experienced a medical emergency that contributed to the alleged behavior. “Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition,” the representative said.
Port Authority officials said two flight attendants were injured during the reported incident, while a third person was taken to a hospital for additional evaluation. Before landing, the pilots alerted air traffic control that one person had a bloody nose and another had bite marks, requesting medical personnel at the gate.
Delta said the flight arrived ahead of schedule and experienced no operational disruption. Law enforcement officers met the plane after it reached the gate.<!–
“Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first,” the airline said in a statement provided to ABC News.
The alleged in-flight incident is being investigated by the FBI and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Sources told ABC News that Blair was taken to Queens Central Booking Monday and is facing two assault counts tied to allegations that she kicked a Port Authority police officer. She could also face an additional charge stemming from a reported confrontation with a nurse at the hospital, the sources said.
During the court proceeding, the judge granted an order of protection for the nurse Blair allegedly injured.

Blair also received a violation notice stating that she may face federal assault charges involving conduct within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States, according to a source familiar with the federal summons who spoke with ABC News.
The summons directs her to answer the allegations in petty violations court in Brooklyn’s federal court system. No court date has been set.
The reported altercation is not Blair’s first airline-related incident. In June 2016, she was removed from a plane on a stretcher and hospitalized after reportedly causing a disturbance during a flight home.
Blair later apologized in an interview with Vanity Fair, explaining that she had been under the influence when the 2016 incident occurred.
“I made a big mistake yesterday,” she said at the time. Blair explained that after traveling with her son and his father, she combined alcohol with medication, blacked out and said and did things she deeply regretted.
She said she took the matter seriously and apologized to the passengers and crew affected by her behavior, while thanking those who assisted afterward. Blair described herself as a flawed person who had made a mistake and said she felt profound shame and remorse.
Months later, in October 2016, Blair discussed the episode on “The Talk,” describing it as a “total psychotic blackout.”
She called the experience frightening and said it was so unlike her usual behavior that she felt empathy for herself afterward, particularly because she was a mother.
Blair is known for movies including “The Sweetest Thing,” “Cruel Intentions” and “Legally Blonde.” She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018 and announced in 2021 that the disease was in remission.
