NEW YORK — The latest installment of “The View” debuted on Monday, bringing together hosts Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin to delve into trending topics and engage in spirited discussions.

Entertainment reporter Joelle Garguilo caught up with the ladies on set to talk about their views on a new season.

Joelle Garguilo: Sunny, what is your view on having another season? Lucky No. 29 of the show.

Sunny Hostin: It’s surreal. This is my 10th season. So, I got off the phone with Star Jones, Sherry Shepherd. I’m apparently an OG now.

Garguilo: Conversations you’d like to have this season.

Hostin: You know, I’ve spoken to, you know, a lot of living presidents. I would like President Barack Obama to come on the show.

Whoopi Goldberg: Possibly Pope Leo. I’m interested in having a dialogue with him to understand his perspective on world matters and what message he wants to impart to people.

Garguilo: What is your view on a new season of the show?

Alyssa Farah Griffin: My perspective on the new season… thrilling opportunities. Coming from a political arena, I tend to look at things through that framework. With the midterms approaching, this show will be a critical platform for candidates to present their arguments for reelection.

Joy Behar: We’re reviving the comedy corner. Ken Jeong will join us on Friday. He began on “The View” in the comedy corner, has since become a huge star, and he’s returning on Friday.

Sara Haines: I love every season we get because it’s the unknown, the unhad conversation.

Garguilo: I had asked you this last year, and I want to see what your answer is this year. What still excites you about going to work?

Goldberg: Getting paid.

Behar: The fact that we still can say it and speak our mind.

Hostin: The ladies, it’s just it’s very exciting to be able to see your girls every single day and work with them.

Ana Navarro: It’s extraordinary the legacy Barbara Walters established, and even after 29 years, people still tune in — some have been watching for nearly three decades, eager to hear the insights of “The View” hosts.

You can watch all-new episodes of “The View” on weekdays at 11 a.m. on ABC.
