Killer executes man washing clothes with wife at NYC laundromat

In a shocking incident on Monday morning, a man was fatally shot while doing laundry with his wife at a Brooklyn laundromat, according to police and sources. The violent episode took place at Xpress Laundromat on Utica Avenue near Avenue J in Flatlands.

The gunman, in his hasty escape, also inadvertently wounded a 68-year-old bystander, striking him in the foot, authorities reported.

“He came in, fired, and was gone in less than 10 seconds,” recounted Sufyan Alahmadi, the 30-year-old manager who reviewed the surveillance footage of the disturbing event.

The manager described the scene, saying, “The attacker simply looked around, drew his weapon, and opened fire.”

The 41-year-old victim, who was reportedly the intended target, sustained multiple gunshot wounds at around 8 a.m. Law enforcement sources indicate that the victim had a criminal history and suggest that the attack may have been linked to gang activity.

The dead man has a criminal record, and the shooting may have been gang-related, sources said.

The gravely wounded victim was rushed to the Kings County Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to police and sources.

He was not immediately identified.

An errant slug meanwhile grazed the older man’s foot, and he was hospitalized in stable condition, authorities and sources said. He has no criminal record, sources said.

The suspect was last seen wearing all black and a black mask, according to the sources.

Splattered blood was visible on the laundromat’s floor as police worked the scene.

Alahmadi said he wasn’t at work yet when the shots rang out but that video showed the gunman hid his weapon before entering the business, whipping it out and opening fire.
