President Donald Trump has stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed “surprise” over the progress the United States has made in the field of artificial intelligence.
In an interview with Bret Baier on Fox News’ “Special Report,” Trump asserted, “We are significantly ahead of China in the AI race.”

Trump continued, “Should we play our cards right, we will maintain our lead. However, it all depends on our strategic actions. Currently, we are leading by a significant margin.”
Reflecting on his recent discussions with President Xi, Trump noted, “During our conversation last night, President Xi was quite astonished by our achievements in AI. Initially, China was perceived to have taken a significant lead, but at present, we are well ahead of them in this area.”
