President Trump shared a video in which rocker Kid Rock said he was “scared” that his home state of Michigan could face a religious “civil war,” while accusing Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed of being “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
Trump posted the clip late Sunday after the 55-year-old Christian singer told Lara Trump on her Fox News program that he was particularly concerned about Dearborn, the Detroit suburb where he and several generations of his family were born and raised.
“I don’t know if people understand how it got to be one of the biggest Arab populations outside the Arab world,” Rock said, referring to the only US city where most residents trace their heritage to the Middle East or North Africa.
Rock acknowledged that “there are extremists and there are milder versions of it,” but said he did not want his grandchildren to someday be forced to fight in a civil war driven by religious ideology.

“This is scary,” he said. Rock then described El-Sayed as “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” The Democratic candidate is competing against Republican Mike Rogers for a vacant seat.
Trump shared the video without adding a comment. Days earlier, however, he had called El-Sayed a “Jihadist lunatic who hates our Country, the Black People of Detroit, and wants to see the U.S. fail.”
