Trump’s Exchange With NPR Reporter About Antifa Is Chef’s Kiss and We Love It

President Donald Trump is undeniably an American asset, and a recent interaction with an NPR reporter over his designation of Antifa as a terrorist entity perfectly illustrates this point.

Beyond the fact that this interaction will inevitably trigger outrage from the left—who are already reacting negatively to Jimmy Kimmel’s indefinite suspension—Trump has issued a stark warning to NPR and traditional media outlets that he intends to investigate the sources of support for this radical group.

The following exchange took place on Air Force One on Trump’s return trip home from the United Kingdom.

Here’s the clip:

“Regarding Antifa being a terrorist organization….,” the reporter asked.

“Who are you with?” Trump replied.

“NPR..,” the reporter answered.

“NPR? I thought they were gone. Are they still here? Oh, good. Congratulations, won’t be for long…”Trump hilariously said.

The reporter pressed further, asking the president, “How do you plan to target them [Antifa] as a terrorist organization without clear leadership or membership?”

“We’ll find out soon enough. We intend to investigate thoroughly. People have debated their influence for quite some time. We’re going to investigate. Could your network have ties to Antifa?” Trump queried.

“No,” the reporter said, before President Trump came back with another zinger, “Ok…well, we’re gonna find out.”

This followed President Trump’s announcement regarding his intent to label the anti-fascist group Antifa as a terrorist organization. This declaration was made public during his and First Lady Melania Trump’s historic visit to the UK when he shared the news on Truth Social early Thursday morning.

His post on social media read:

“I am pleased to inform our many U.S.A. Patriots that I am designating ANTIFA, A SICK, DANGEROUS, RADICAL LEFT DISASTER, AS A MAJOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION,” Trump wrote Thursday. “I will also be strongly recommending that those funding ANTIFA be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the highest legal standards and practices. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

RedState’s Bob Hoge reported on Trump’s move, and he detailed some of the mayhem and violence conducted by the radical leftist group.

Hoge wrote:

Antifa basically owns Portland and has directed hundreds of nights of violence and protest in the Northwest city, including taking over and vandalizing a federal courthouse during the George Floyd riots. The [former President Joe] Biden administration was nowhere to be seen, and didn’t care.

Antifa has been a shadowy, sinister organization that has somehow escaped more serious scrutiny in the past. Where have you been, Southern Poverty Law Center? They refuse to classify them as a hate group despite giving that designation to PragerU, Focus on the Family, and Libs of TikTok operator Chaya Raichik. Seriously?

How this violent group has been allowed to operate so long, seemingly unfettered, is beyond me. It may be long past due, but Trump is right to recognize them for what they are—violent extremists who are only too happy to dress up in black clothes and bring mayhem and destruction. While Antifa is considered a “nebulous social group,” and therefore hard to crack down on, it’s time for them to receive a reality check.

I, too, am unsure how Trump is going to do this, but the fact that the far-left group has run unchecked for so long means it is well beyond time the right does something about them.
