Fists flew — and then the paws got involved.
A chaotic confrontation between two men walking their dogs erupted in a park near San Diego’s Mission Beach, turning a scenic outdoor spot into the backdrop for an unexpected brawl.
Within moments, the leashed dogs were drawn into the melee, sparking a separate scuffle of their own.
Video of the incident shows the two men briefly swinging punches and kicking at each other before a Pit Bull belonging to one of them lunges at the other man’s German Shepherd. As the man in the blue shirt tries to separate the dogs, the man dressed in black appears to take a cheap shot.
A third man then steps in and attempts to calm the dog that had been attacked before the clip cuts off.
What sparked the fight remains unclear.
The bizarre dog-walking brawl quickly became fodder for Instagram commenters, who wasted no time weighing in.
“It’s the cheap shot when the guy in blue tries to break up the dogs that does it for me,” one person wrote.
“That man took the German Shepherd’s back and rolled with a choke like he’s a trained jiu-jitsu guy, but I think he might be going to the wrong gym. He doesn’t seem to know how to keep his cool. Men are so emotional and violent sometimes,” another added.
“Lot goin on here…. Pitbull saw his owner throwing hooks & understood the assignment,” a third joked.
Mission Beach is a popular artificial bay near the Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego.
The tussle comes about a week after more irresponsible tomfoolery in San Diego.
A heartless punk squared up and kicked a sea lion at the famous La Jolla Cove on Wednesday night in a horrifying act caught on camera.
The man is seen approaching the timid sea lion lying on a low concrete wall before he kicks at it and then makes contact with another kick to its body, sending it harmlessly fleeing. He then chases the sea lion with a mocking, menacing pose before giving up the chase.
