Voice actor Patrick Warburton, known for his roles as Kronk in “The Emperor’s New Groove” and Pulaski in “Planes: Fire & Rescue,” is a familiar voice in many beloved Disney films. His distinctive vocal style has captivated audiences for years.
In the upcoming sequel, “Zootopia 2,” Warburton takes on the role of the mayor of Zootopia, bringing his iconic voice to a new character.
“I am playing Mayor Brian Winddancer, who once was an action hero and a movie star,” Warburton explained, hinting at the character’s intriguing backstory.
Joining a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Jason Bateman, Adam Sandberg, and Ginnifer Goodwin, Warburton eagerly accepted the role without hesitation.
“It’s Disney, and it’s Zootopia, so I didn’t need to see anything to be on board,” he expressed enthusiastically.
Upon seeing the initial designs for his character, Warburton was delighted, further fueling his excitement for the project.
“It was always really fun whenever they’d show you something,” Warburton said, “They’ve already started to integrate certain features of yours into the character, which is pretty spectacular.”
After watching the premiere at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles, Warburton couldn’t be more excited.
“This film is so much fun to watch,” he declares, “it’s a great movie for kids, but adults enjoy it just as much and it does have something for everybody, including some adult humor,” Warburton says with a smile.
