NIGEL FARAGE: Why you must vote to get Keir Starmer and Labour out

Is there anyone still questioning whether Keir Starmer holds the title of Britain’s most ineffective prime minister? Considering the lineup of previous leaders, it’s a tough title to claim.

However, in just 21 turbulent months at 10 Downing Street, Keir Starmer seems to have surpassed all previous contenders for this dubious honor.

After 14 years under Conservative leadership, Labour came into power in 2024 with a straightforward promise: Change. They certainly delivered on that front, though many argue it has been change for the worse.

Labour has surprisingly managed to outpace the Conservatives in some areas.

Take illegal immigration, for example. Starmer vowed to dismantle the networks of people-smugglers.

Yet, under his leadership, a new record has been set: more illegal immigrants have entered the UK in small boats during his tenure than under any previous prime minister.

Meanwhile, the cost-of living crisis has left millions worrying about how to keep the lights on and pay the bills.

Thanks to repeated tax raids by Starmer and his flailing chancellor Rachel from Accounts, the British people are now labouring under the highest taxation burden since the Second World War.

The truth is Starmer is running scared of voters and desperate not to be held accountable for the harm his government has done to millions of people, writes Nigel Farage

We learned this week that, for the first time ever, the British Government now pays out more in welfare benefits than it takes in income tax. What an epitaph for Starmer’s premiership.

Under Labour, the British economy is stagnating. Our proud nation can no longer even defend its own borders, never mind – despite the PM’s endless posturing at international summits – act on the world stage.

Burglary, phone theft and shoplifting have effectively been decriminalised, and mobs of youths feel free to run riot on the streets of lawless London.

Yet Starmer insists that Britain is not broken. He seems to live in a different country from the rest of us.

At every turn, we have seen a Government that shows only contempt for hard-working British people. If you are a saver, a pensioner, a homeowner, a farmer, a small-business owner or a driver, Starmer and Reeves are coming for you and your future.

Don’t let Starmer claim he has a popular mandate for his terrible policies – most weren’t even in his manifesto.

He was elected, let’s remember, in a ‘loveless landslide’.

After one of the dullest election campaigns in memory, where they took pains to say nothing controversial or interesting, Labour won 33 per cent of the votes cast.

But our electoral system meant that they somehow ended up with 411 MPs and a massive majority in Parliament.

Less than two years later, he has regularly recorded the lowest approval ratings of any British prime minister, ever.

Little wonder the Labour Government colluded with Conservative councils to cancel local elections last year, and tried to do the same this May. It took the efforts of Reform UK and our last-minute legal challenge to stop them. What are they so terrified of?

The truth is Starmer is running scared of voters and desperate not to be held accountable for the harm his government has done to millions of people.

But then, what more could we expect from a human rights lawyer who once admitted he felt more at home hob-knobbing with wealthy elitists at the World Economic Forum in Davos than dealing with elected MPs in Westminster?

Starmer believes in nothing beyond saving his own skin.

I have said many times now that he is a follower, not a leader. When the PM first timidly suggested reforming the bloated benefits system, he dropped it at the first sign of opposition from Left-wing backbench MPs.

Or remember his ‘bold’ speech about the problems of immigration and integration, where he talked about Britain becoming an ‘island of strangers’?

No sooner were the words out of his mouth than Starmer was apologising for ever saying them and claiming he had not read the speech properly before making it. That just about sums the man up.

Starmer is a pathetic excuse for a Prime Minister, particularly in troubled times when, both at home and abroad, Britain needs real leadership. He is a man I once had respect for, but no longer. It is time to get him out.

As he grows more desperate to cling to office, things are only going to get worse. I predict we will see some of his MPs defecting to Zack Polanski’s surging Green Party.

That means even higher taxes, even more benefit spending, even fewer controls on immigration and even more attacks on freedom of speech.

With the prospect of a financial and economic crisis looming, I believe a general election will come sooner than many people think, perhaps as early as next year.

In any case, in a few weeks’ time, we will have the biggest political battle in Britain before the next general election.

On May 7 there are local elections for 5,000 council seats across England, as well as to the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Senedd.

The choice for millions of people is now between Keir Starmer and Reform UK.

We have now topped more than 250 national opinion polls in a row. Why? Because we are the only party willing to admit that Britain is broken – but also that it’s possible to fix it.

Unlike Starmer’s Labour, Reform UK will always put the British people first.

We will pass emergency laws giving us the power to deport all illegal immigrants.

We have pledged to uphold the state pension triple lock to ensure British pensioners who have worked hard all their lives have the dignity and support they deserve.

Reform UK is now the only real alternative to Labour. The Conservatives have sunk to a distant third or even fourth place in the polls.

The public has not forgiven them for 14 years of blunders and betrayal – and perhaps never will.

After what I predict will be a wipe-out in the May elections in Scotland and Wales, the Conservatives might find it hard even to claim that they are still a national party. If Reform UK win these elections, Keir Starmer will have to resign. It will only be a matter of time.

A vote for anyone other than Reform would suggest that things can carry on as they are. Starmer will continue letting the boats cross the Channel, keep raising your taxes, keep hammering your savings and targeting small businesses.

We are winning the support of people around Britain who feel ignored and let down by the old parties. Many tell me they see us as the last hope to turn this great country around.

That’s why, in a few weeks’ time, we will do well in Labour’s alleged heartlands in the so-called Red Wall areas of the north of England, the Midlands and Wales.

Starmer has already lost the last two parliamentary by-elections in supposedly ‘safe’ Labour seats. My party finished ahead of the Conservatives and Labour in both of these contests.

The British people want Starmer out. We are the party that is best placed to beat Labour and give the people what they want.

When I returned to politics as leader of Reform UK before the last general election, I promised to stand up for: ‘Your Family, Your Community and Our Country’. Keir Starmer has done critical damage to all three.

Enough is enough. My message to the British people today is: Vote Reform, get Starmer out.
