Donald Trump would STILL beat Joe Biden if convicted in two of his three criminal trials: Bleak new poll for the president shows voters care less about his 2024 rival's legal problems

In a recent Harvard-Harris poll released on Monday, a significant number of Americans indicated they would still support Donald Trump in the presidential election, even if he were convicted in two of his three ongoing criminal trials.

Currently, the former president is facing four criminal charges and a civil lawsuit, which he has labeled a “witch hunt” orchestrated by liberal prosecutors aiming to undermine him.

Despite these legal challenges, the poll suggests that a majority of voters prefer Trump over President Biden. This preference persists even if Trump is found guilty of allegedly mishandling classified documents or interfering with the 2020 electoral process in Georgia.

Interestingly, voter support appears to wane if Trump is convicted for his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election, particularly regarding the incitement of the January 6 Capitol riot.

The survey also indicated that Trump, the leading GOP contender, would surpass Biden by a margin of seven points if the election were held today.

Furthermore, the poll, which surveyed over 2,300 registered voters, found that 53 percent would continue to support Trump if he is convicted for issues related to his handling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that he has done nothing wrong in the many cases against him

Additionally, if Trump is convicted for trying to influence the 2020 election results in Georgia, he would still win 51 percent of the vote, the poll found.

The only conviction that would tank Trump’s White House bid is if he were found guilty of inciting the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. In which case he would lose to Biden 48 percent to 52 percent.

When asked whether respondents believe Trump will be convicted of any crimes, the majority, 54 percent, said he will not be convicted.

Further, a majority of respondents, including 30 percent of Democrats, said they believe that the prosecutions of Trump are ‘politically motivated,’ the poll found.

Meanwhile, only 42 percent of voters approve of the job Biden is doing in the White House.

These respondents largely disapproved of Biden’s handling of immigration, inflation and the Israel-Hamas war, according to the poll.

In addition to his four criminal indictments, the former president is involved in a civil fraud lawsuit against the Trump Organization, in which New York Attorney General Letitia James alleges Trump and his business colleagues conspired to pad his net worth in order to make deals and secure loans.

Despite his opponent facing legal problems, Biden has not developed a clear lead in the polls

Trump has denied wrongdoing in the case and called the indictment a ‘political prosecution.’

The judge in the civil fraud lawsuit set a trial date for March 25, but said he will wait until February to see if the trial needs to be postponed due to scheduling conflicts.

The federal election interference trial in Washington, D.C., is set to begin March 4.

The former president’s trial regarding his handling of classified documents is scheduled to start on May 20.

A trial date has not yet been set for the Trump’s Georgia election interference case.
