Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards and Thierry Henry hilariously interrogated broadcaster Kate Abdo over whether they would be invited to her future wedding, and the Frenchman’s reaction has left social media in stitches.

The quartet are the stars of American channel CBS’s Champions League show where they are renowned for their comical comradery and were on form again on Tuesday evening.

Arsenal legend Henry is often the subject of light-hearted mocking on social media where fans joke that he has a crush on Abdo, and comments about the iconic striker’s reaction piled in after the presenter publicly revealed she was no longer single.

Carragher began his line of questioning by stating: ‘Are we the type of team to be invited to your wedding?’.

A confident Abdo hit back, ‘Oh here we go, I wondered when this would come up,’ while Henry theatrically raised his hands into the air and rocked back on his chair.

Richards was next to chip in, adding: ‘Are you getting married Kate?’ with the 42-year-old keeping her cool as she replied, ‘Malik wants to marry me I can tell you that, can you blame the man, come on now.’

Her co-presenters echoed shocked reactions, topped by Henry whistling through the silence before Carragher continued to discuss the stag-do activities that Malik could get up to.

Reactions on social media quickly commented on Henry’s stunned reaction, with one comment on X stating: ‘Titi wants to cry’.

Another added: ‘Kate, stop breaking Thierry’s heart with details of your relationship.’

A third comment suggested: ‘She’s still touching Thierry’s arm……. He’s not gonna stop trying until that ring is cemented.’

Abdo quickly rejected the suggestion of her partner hosting a bachelor party and additionally jested her dream wedding destination is Las Vegas before turning the exchange back on Richards by asking about his relationship.

Richards does not have a wife and has never married but was hinted to be in a relationship by his fellow pundits, and attempted to change topic when questions were directed at him.

Richards was later grilled by Abdo before revealing he ‘doesn’t believe’ in marriage

Abdo stated: ‘Malik and I have been together six months now so if we are already talking weddings then you must be talking weddings’.

However, former Premier League winner Richards admitted he ‘doesn’t believe in weddings’ and hilariously called for HR to intervene after Carragher questioned whether the 35-year-old didn’t like the idea of being faithful.

Henry tried to divert the conversation by asking about the Champions League games being played that night before Richards stated: ‘HR, HR you need to intervene. First it was Kate with her fat shaming and now it’s Jamie.’

The awkward and chaotic exchange eventually ended with Carragher revealing Richards had messaged Abdo’s partner, Malik, on social media before the ex-Man City star demanded ‘roll the tape’ in relation to the show carrying on.
