Today’s smartphones can capture impressively crisp, stable video, but their built-in microphones still often fall short. For creators, interviewers, vloggers or anyone filming on the go, a wireless lavalier microphone can make a major difference, delivering cleaner audio whether you’re recording solo or capturing voices from multiple speakers.
One standout option is the DJI Mic 3, which is currently on sale for $219, down from its usual $259, at retailers including Best Buy, B&H Photo and Amazon. The package comes with two microphones, a receiver that connects to a phone or camera, a charging case, power and audio cables, and four windscreens designed to cut down on wind noise during outdoor shoots.
DJI has upgraded the Mic 3 in several notable ways compared with earlier versions, expanding its capabilities and improving compatibility. The receiver now includes 32GB of internal audio storage, up from 8GB, and supports both 24-bit and 32-bit float recording. It also features a built-in display for monitoring battery life and connection status, while magnetic clips make it simple to attach the transmitters to clothing or hats.
The microphones are also built to handle challenging recording environments. They include two levels of noise reduction and active gain control to help manage sudden spikes in volume. Each microphone lasts about eight hours per charge, while the receiver can run for roughly 10 hours. The included charging case adds at least two full recharges for the complete set.
