A high school teacher is reported to have engaged in a sexual encounter with a student in her classroom shortly before her arrest.
Brooke Anderson, aged 27, faces allegations of maintaining an inappropriate relationship with the student for eight months.
The student informed Florida police that his relationship with Anderson began in September of the previous year.
He claimed the pair had sent explicit text messages before their relationship turned sexual.
Anderson and the student had sex several times, according to Hillsborough County cops.
She was booked into jail on May 16 – just hours after allegedly having sex with the boy.
They had sex before the school day got underway, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Cops described the teacher’s alleged behavior as “criminal and calculated.”
“Her actions are criminal, calculated, and deeply disturbing,” sheriff Chad Chronister said.
“This teacher betrayed the trust of a student, a school, and an entire community.”
Anderson had been a biology teacher in Hillsborough County since 2021.
And she was a science teacher at the Riverview High School in Tampa.
Education officials revealed she had passed her standard vetting checks.
She now faces three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a child.
Each charge comes with a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
Cops have not revealed if she has an attorney.
Police have said the probe is ongoing and have encouraged any alleged victims to come forward.
