Arizona is the adopted home state of Kirk, who grew up outside Chicago.

WASHINGTON — On Sunday, a memorial service in Arizona drew large crowds to honor conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Among the attendees and speakers were President Donald Trump and key figures from his “Make America Great Again” movement, all gathered to commemorate his life.

It’s not yet known exactly where Kirk, whom Trump credits with playing a pivotal role in his 2024 election victory, will be buried.

Arizona is the adopted home state of Kirk, who grew up outside Chicago and founded Turning Point there before moving the organization to Phoenix.

Turning Point USA has yet to publicly announce where Kirk will be laid to rest.

Vice President JD Vance mentioned that Kirk’s influential advocacy played a significant role in Trump choosing him as vice president. Following Kirk’s passing, Vance transported his casket from Utah to Arizona on Air Force Two and later stepped in as a guest host on Kirk’s podcast.

Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, spoke at the memorial and has been selected to be the new CEO and board chair of Turning Point USA.

Kirk tragically lost his life on September 10 while giving a speech at Utah Valley University. He is survived by his three-year-old daughter and one-year-old son.

The service on Sunday was held at State Farm Stadium—home to the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, located west of Phoenix and also the base for Kirk’s Turning Point organization. The event witnessed enhanced security measures, comparable to those implemented at the Super Bowl or other major gatherings.
