Josh Hartnett was rushed to a Canadian hospital last week after a vehicle he was riding in was hit by a police officer in St. John’s Canada.

The Pearl Harbor star, 47, was a passenger in an SUV involved in an incident with a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary vehicle at approximately 1 a.m. local time on Thursday, as reported by CBC.

The actor, originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, and father to three children with his wife Tamsin Egerton, 36, was on his way home after working on a currently untitled Netflix series.

A 59-year-old man whose name was not publicly released was driving the vehicle that the Lucky Number Slevin actor was in, the CBC reported.

According to Cst. James Cadigan, a communications officer with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, a police officer was hospitalized ‘as a precaution,’ the CBC reported.

The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for the actor and reached out to Egerton via Instagram for additional information regarding the actor’s condition following the crash.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said that Hartnett, his driver and the officer had been seen by medical professionals for minor injuries.

Both of the vehicles involved in the incident had been ‘significantly damaged’ as result of the collision, the CBC reported.

Officials are seeking witnesses and video in connection with the incident, and urge the public to contact them with information.

The incident took place at the corner of New Cove Road and Elizabeth Avenue.

The Black Hawk Down actor is working on a show tentatively titled ‘untitled Netflix Newfoundland series’ on iMDb.

The Netflix production also stars Mackenzie Davis, Darrin Baker, Charlie Heaton, Tanchay Redvers, Joshua Close, Rohan Campbell, Ruby Stokes, Kaleb Horn, Willow Kean, and Natasha Henstridge.

A logline describes the storyline: ‘When a mysterious sea creature terrorizes a remote town, a fisherman must fight to protect his family, his community, and his way of life.’

In recent years, Hartnett has appeared in multiple high-profile projects, including the TV shows The Bear and Black Mirror; and the films Oppenheimer, Trap and Fight or Flight.

The streaming service this past summer posted a cast photo featuring the actor.

The actor is three years removed from his wedding to longtime partner Tamsin Egerton, 36.

After a 10-year courtship, the pair exchanged vows in a secret ceremony at London’s Marylebone Town Hall in 2022.

A friend of the couple told The Sun that the tandem ‘wanted to make it official in a low-key affair, with their close family and friends.’
