The search for a missing New Jersey man has entered its second week, as authorities and the community continue their efforts to locate him.

Morty Wortman, a 22-year-old student at Rutgers University, was last seen on November 21 near the Collier Mills Wildlife Management Area. According to Jersey Shore Online, he is classified as endangered, although the details surrounding this designation have not been disclosed.

Wortman’s brother shared with News12 that Morty’s car was found at Regional Day School in Jackson on November 21. Surveillance footage from the location reportedly captures Wortman and a friend entering another person’s vehicle, his brother revealed.

“The Rutgers University Police Department is actively collaborating with the Jackson Police Department, which is spearheading the investigation,” stated Megan Florance, a spokesperson for Rutgers, in a statement to NJ.com.

Describing Wortman’s appearance, he is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds, and has dark brown hair and brown eyes. Notably, he has a nose piercing and several earrings in each ear.

When last seen, Wortman was wearing a black T-shirt, a burgundy hoodie, and blue jeans.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should call Jackson police at 732-928-1111 and press “0” to speak with a dispatcher.
