Police in New Jersey have ramped up their efforts to locate a man who vanished at the end of last month.

According to Jersey Shore Online, a renewed search was launched for 22-year-old Morty Wortman, a Rutgers student, at the Collier Mills Wildlife Management Area. Wortman was last observed on November 21 near the expansive 12,000-acre preserve, with surveillance footage capturing him entering a friend’s vehicle at the Regional Day School in Jackson.

Authorities found Wortman’s car abandoned at the school, but he has not been seen since.

As reported by Jersey Shore Online, police have broadened their efforts to find Wortman, who is considered to be in danger. The investigation is being conducted with the collaboration of multiple agencies, including state police and prosecutors.

The identity of the friend who was last seen with Wortman remains undisclosed. However, Wortman’s brother informed News12 that this individual is not cooperating with the investigation.

Wortman is described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with dark brown hair and brown eyes. He has a nose piercing and multiple earrings in both ears. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black T-shirt, a burgundy hoodie, and blue jeans.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should call Jackson police at 732-928-1111 and press “0” to speak with a dispatcher.
