Oscar nominees mix and mingle at the annual Oscars Nominees Luncheon

The anticipation is palpable in Beverly Hills as Hollywood’s elite gathers for the 98th Oscars Nominees Luncheon, a celebrated prelude to the grand event.

In attendance were luminaries such as Kate Hudson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Michael B. Jordan, Rose Byrne, Jacob Elordi, Wagner Moura, Jessie Buckley, Emma Stone, Teyana Taylor, Elle Fanning, Chloé Zhao, Ryan Coogler, Paul Thomas Anderson, EJAE, Diane Warren, and Steven Spielberg. The star-studded list highlights the immense talent being recognized this year.

This year’s Oscars nominees list is impressively diverse, featuring 230 nominees hailing from 29 different countries and regions. All 24 award categories boast international representation, underscoring cinema’s universal appeal and reach.

Adding to the historical significance of this year’s nominations is the record-breaking number of female nominees, with 76 women being recognized for their exceptional contributions to film, marking a milestone in Oscars history.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, with its 11,000 members, has cast ballots across 88 regions worldwide to select these outstanding nominees, further emphasizing the global nature of the awards.

Lou Diamond Phillips took the stage to announce the nominees as they assembled for the annual “class photo,” humorously noting that although it’s called the Nominees Luncheon, it might as well be dubbed the “Winners Luncheon.”

Academy CEO Bill Kramer echoed that sentiment saying, “All of our nominees are here to celebrate each other to take their class photo. Everyone gets up on this beautifully designed riser and it’s a moment to celebrate our community. Everyone’s a winner today.”
