In an attempt to curb the effects of over-tourism, Fujiyoshida’s Arakurayama Sengen Park canceled its cherry blossom festival this year. However, this hasn’t deterred sightseers from flocking to the area to admire the iconic blossoms. From April 1, marking the onset of the cherry blossom season, the park has increased security measures and prohibited tour buses and vehicles from entering the vicinity. Nonetheless, visitors can still enjoy a stroll through the park, which boasts over 650 Yoshino cherry trees.
