A cache of documents belonging to the late cybersecurity head from Los Alamos National Laboratory—where two of the 11 missing or deceased American scientists were once employed—claims to reveal that the US government has been quietly conducting UFO-related research for many years, as highlighted in a new documentary.

In the upcoming film “Sleeping Dog,” journalist Jeremy Corbell asserts that he acquired these significant classified papers from the son of the former cybersecurity chief at the top-secret laboratory in New Mexico.

“In my career as a journalist, I’ve served as a key repository for sensitive information on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena in my reporting,” Corbell expressed to The Post.

“Nowadays, it’s common for the families of deceased insiders to reach out to me with concealed documents that their relatives left behind,” he added.

In the documentary previewed by The Post, Corbell explained, “This young man, after his father’s passing, begins sorting through his belongings and realizes, ‘Wow, this is some serious material.'”

Corbell further mentioned, “I start recognizing some of the names. I personally know some of these scientists. They never disclosed to me that they conducted studies on UFOs.”

The identities of the lab chief, his son, and the scientists are withheld in the documentary for safety concerns.

The film is slated for release May 17.

The out-of-this-world leak contains internal memos, drawings, and Polaroids, according to Corbell.

“These documents provide absolute confirmation that the US government has maintained a secret, decades-long program to uncover the intent and origins of those piloting UFOs,” Corbell said.

Agenda for a 1991 meeting at Los Alamos National Lab discussing the investigation of "Atmospheric Anomalies" with invitees from LANL, CIA, NSA, USN, and USA.
A document supposedly from Los Alamos National Laboratory shows the agenda for a meeting from 1991.

One document shows the agenda of a high-level, all-day meeting on April, 24,1991 at Los Alamos where representatives from the Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Administration, Navy, and Army met to discuss the investigation into “Atmospheric Anomalies.”

The discussion included the 1987 Gulf Breeze UFO incident in Florida and the Belgian UFO wave in 1989, the document lays out.

Other issues addressed in the meeting were “Soviet offerings,” the “development of sensors,” and how to “interface with the civilian sector, i.e. Universities such as MIT and Stanford.”

The highly secretive Los Alamos National Lab, founded by father of the atom bomb Robert Oppenheimer, has had two former employees vanish without a trace within the last year.

Retired engineer Anthony Chavez was last seen in May 2025 when he disappeared while going for a walk. The 78-year-old left both his wallet and keys at home and his body has not been found, despite weeks of searching.

Melissa Casias, 39, worked as an administrative assistant at the lab and disappeared in June 2025 after dropping lunch off for her daughter.

Casias, whose husband also works at Los Alamos, was last seen on surveillance footage walking along a highway alone.

Both Casias’ home phone and work phone were reset to factory setting and left at her home, according to authorities.

Missing Air Force Gen. William McCasland, who was a “gatekeeper” one the UFO subject, had indirect ties with Los Almost National Laboratory due to his oversight of nuclear research programs which are conducted at the lab.

President Trump acknowledged the troubling trend of missing US scientists on April 16, saying to reporters from the South Lawn, “I hope it’s random.

“Some of them were very important people, and we’re going to look at it over the next short period.”
