White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt quickly shifted back into family life after traveling to Pennsylvania with President Donald Trump on her first day returning from maternity leave.
The 28-year-old mother of two headed straight home after work to spend time with her newborn daughter.
On Tuesday night, Leavitt posted a tender moment to her Instagram Stories, sharing a photo of herself cradling two-month-old Viviana while the pair wore coordinating pajamas.
The matching sleepwear, from Posh Peanut, is priced at more than $100 and is covered in red and blue bows, giving the outfits a festive look ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.
Leavitt held her baby girl, nicknamed Vivi, as she snapped the selfie and captioned the image: “Matching and patriotic with my girl.”
Viviana was born on May 1, just days after the attempted assassination of President Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April.
Leavitt and her husband, 60-year-old Nicholas Riccio, are also parents to son Niko, who is set to celebrate his second birthday next month.
After spending the past two months on maternity leave, Leavitt returned to her White House role this week and accompanied the President on a visit to a key battleground district in Pennsylvania.

Leavitt has been on maternity leave for the past two months, but returned to work this week and even joined the President on his trip to a crucial battleground district in Pennsylvania
Trump took the stage at a Lower Macungie Township Mack Trucks assembly plant owned by the Volvo Group, as he spoke about re–industrialization and the jobs agenda to the Rust Belt workers hit hardest by skyrocketing inflation fueled by the war in the Middle East.
Leavitt was also spotted doing her first media report on Fox News yesterday.
During her maternity leave, there was no formal replacement for the political star, as various members of the administration covered for her and held press conferences, including Vice President JD Vance.
During her time off, she did take to social media to share some sweet photos of her life as a mom of two, and even appeared with her husband at Trump’s birthday UFC fight on Sunday, June 14.
Leavitt posted photos of the fun night to her Instagram page the next day, writing in the caption: ‘Mom and Dad night out for Freedom 250.’
The new mom-of-two glowed as she sported a red tweed dress with a matching cropped jacket by Alice + Olivia on top, which retails for $495.
Her hair was styled in a glamorous updo, as her husband wore a casual white plaid blazer.

One photo showed Niko admiring his new little sister while she slept in her car seat, while a second featured her wearing a summery white dress as she held Niko – who was clad in an American-flag printed T-shirt – in her arms.
Another picture saw Leavitt cuddled up with Vivi on the rocker as she shared a blissful smile, while the next one featured her husband holding the newborn.
Leavitt also shared photos of the family spending time at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as enjoying the beach, as Niko protectively looked over his younger sister.
‘May memories,’ Leavitt wrote in the caption of the photos. ‘So grateful for this precious time with my sweet babies.’
Since becoming the face of the White House last year, Leavitt’s marriage to Riccio, a real estate developer, has raised eyebrows due to their 31-year age gap.
In March, Leavitt admitted they have a ‘very atypical love story,’ and said they first met when she unsuccessfully ran for Congress in New Hampshire in 2022.
‘A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband,’ Leavitt told Megyn Kelly at the time.
‘I was speaking. We met and we were acquainted as friends. And then we fell in love.’
When The Megyn Kelly Show host asked if there had been any thought in her mind of ‘I can’t date him, he’s 59 and I’m 27?’, Leavitt confirmed that she had dealt with initial doubts about how the age gap would impact the relationship.
‘Yes, of course. I mean, it’s a very atypical love story, but he’s incredible,’ she gushed. ‘He is my greatest supporter, he’s my best friend and he’s my rock.’
