Police met an American Airlines flight at Miami International Airport late Friday after reports that a female passenger had removed her clothing and behaved indecently during the trip.
American Airlines Flight 1779 left Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport shortly after 9 p.m. EDT on Friday, Sept. 11, 2025—nearly two hours later than scheduled, according to publicly available flight-tracking data. The Airbus A319 reached Miami at about 11:23 p.m. EDT.
While the plane was flying toward Florida, flight attendants notified the cockpit about a disturbance involving a passenger seated in row 9.

AirLive, an aviation news website, published Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System, or ACARS, messages indicating that the lead flight attendant reported a woman in seat 9D had fully undressed and engaged in indecent conduct in front of nearby travelers.

The message said the incident needed to be reported to American Airlines’ Integrated Operations Center and called for law enforcement to respond once the flight landed.
The aircraft continued to Miami rather than making an unscheduled diversion. Flight-tracking service Flightera listed the plane at Gate D2 in Terminal N, where officers were reportedly waiting. AirLive said the passenger was taken into custody.

Details about how the cabin crew handled the reported disturbance during the flight have not been disclosed.
News Outlet has contacted American Airlines, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and Miami International Airport seeking additional information and comment.
