In Tennessee, an 18-year-old woman stands accused of fatally shooting a man 14 times using two firearms. This act reportedly stemmed from a claim by her 5-year-old relative that the man had behaved inappropriately towards her.

Alishon Torres faces charges including first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a firearm during a felony, and evidence tampering, as per court documents accessed by Law&Crime. She was taken into custody at the Shelby County Jail on Friday and appeared in court for arraignment on Monday.

The victim has been identified as 58-year-old Noe Santillan Rincon, according to reports from local CBS affiliate WREG.

At around 1 a.m. on February 26, Rincon was reportedly seen by Torres’ mother, with whom he was staying, as he prepared milk and rice for her children and grandchildren. Shortly after, she began receiving texts and calls from Rincon’s phone, though it was Torres on the line.

Torres allegedly encountered Rincon on Willowview Avenue, asked to use his phone, and confronted him regarding a serious accusation. According to Torres, three to four weeks earlier, her young relative had accused Rincon of inappropriate touching.

Authorities report that Torres then shot Rincon 14 times with two separate firearms, including a shot to the head. His body was discovered by a Memphis Police Department officer patrolling Willowview Avenue at 2 a.m.

Officers later spoke with Torres, and she allegedly admitted to shooting Rincon because of what the child told her. As she was being arrested, police said a .40-cal. Beretta pistol with no serial number fell out of her purse.

She reportedly said that the Beretta was one of two guns she used to shoot Rincon, and she gave away or sold the other one. She also allegedly admitted to shooting the man inside a van and then repainting it and abandoning it at an apartment complex.

Torres is set to appear in court for a bond hearing on Wednesday and is scheduled to return to court on March 16.
