Angela Volm (Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office).
Authorities in Wisconsin say a woman’s animosity toward the father of her child escalated into an alleged plan to have him killed, including seeking help from a man with military experience to learn how to shoot and “make him disappear.”
“I am going to f—ing kill you, you piece of s—,” Angela Volm, 45, allegedly wrote in text messages to the man, according to a criminal complaint obtained by local CBS affiliate WSAW.
Investigators allege Volm viewed the child’s father as “pathetic” and approached a man she knew who had military training, asking him to teach her to shoot so she could remove the father from her life.
The father went to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office after learning from an acquaintance that Volm was allegedly talking about killing him, the complaint states. He told investigators he had been informed Volm had attempted to recruit someone to carry out the act.
According to the complaint, Volm allegedly offered a sexual encounter to a man with military experience in exchange for his help. The man told investigators she questioned him about his military background and asked whether he owned a firearm. The nature of their relationship was not immediately clear.
The man also claimed Volm wanted shooting instruction, the complaint says. She allegedly stated she would either pay someone to kill the father of her child “or end up in prison trying” to do it herself, while claiming he had mistreated her.
The man Volm had asked to help her said he refused and told her she needed professional help, according to WSAW and the complaint.
Volm was taken into custody and charged in Lincoln County Circuit Court with solicitation to commit first-degree intentional homicide. She is due to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on June 29 and has been assigned a public defender.
