Kelly Osbourne has revealed that she gained two stone over six months, admitting she was “as shocked as anyone else” when she saw photographs of herself at this year’s BRIT Awards.
The 41-year-old singer prompted genuine concern about her health and wellbeing at the Manchester ceremony, where she appeared noticeably slimmer as she stood on stage alongside her mother, Sharon.
Kelly, who has denied using weight-loss jabs, has endured a difficult year following the death of her father, Ozzy, in July 2025, as well as the breakdown of her relationship with fiancé Sid Wilson.
However, seven months after her BRIT Awards appearance, the actress appears to be in a healthier frame of mind and has spoken openly about her recent weight gain.
Kelly also addressed speculation about an eating disorder, saying she was not suffering from one and had instead reached a point where she “just couldn’t do anything” for herself.
“No one knows what people are dealing with in private,” she said. “I was just sad.”

“I don’t wish that pain on anyone ever. And to go through that in front of everyone just sucked,” she said in an interview with The Sun.
The British television personality has spoken candidly for years about her struggles with body image, which began during her teenage years when she starred in her family’s reality series, The Osbournes.
Speaking on The Osbournes podcast last year, Kelly recalled being summoned to the head of her agency’s office and told she was “too fat for TV” and needed to lose weight to improve her appearance.
“And he was just saying, ‘You’re not a movie star, but you could be one if you lost weight,’” she said.
Since then, Kelly’s relationship with her weight has gone through several dramatic changes.
She underwent gastric sleeve surgery in 2018, later describing it as “the best thing I have ever done”. Kelly credited the procedure, a strict diet and high-intensity interval training with helping her lose 85lb.
Pregnancy brought another major change. While expecting her son Sidney in 2022, Kelly gained around 100lb and developed gestational diabetes. She later said the experience led her to avoid the spotlight.
“She has told people that she got skinnier for her kid. She wants to be around for her kid and play and be with her kid for a long time, and now that she lost her dad, she sees that being something even more important,” a second source said.
“She doesn’t want to be the weight she used to be and she is going to do whatever she needs to do to stay skinny.”

Kelly, who denies using weight-loss jabs, has faced a particularly difficult year following the death of her father, Ozzy, in July 2025, and her split from fiancé Sid Wilson (Kelly pictured with her father in 2020)
Kelly has repeatedly pushed back against criticism of her dramatic transformation, most notably rejecting rumours that she used Ozempic.
“I know everybody thinks I took Ozempic. I did not take Ozempic. I don’t know where that came from. My mom took Ozempic,” she previously told Extra.
But those close to Kelly are keeping a watchful eye, with a source telling the Daily Mail that ‘nobody near her is looking to provide an intervention, but people have noticed and are monitoring it’.
‘Kelly is definitely not concerned with how she looks and would tell anyone that would bring it up to her to go screw off, but she does get upset over people talking about it,’ the source added.
‘She is very skinny. She has been working on her weight her entire life and the stress of her dad passing away has been a major struggle to deal with that is taking a toll on her look and health.’
During an appearance on Paul C Brunson’s podcast, We Need To Talk, last month, Kelly revealed she relapsed into drinking following the death of her father as her grief sent her spiralling back into addiction.
Kelly, who says she is now sober again, said his death triggered a period in which she became unable to look after herself properly.
‘I was a shell of myself. I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t do anything. I was just empty,’ Kelly said.
‘Broken in every way a human being could possibly be broken and completely unable to even take care of myself. I was at ground zero. I started drinking again. I lost my mind. I couldn’t handle it.’
Kelly, who has battled drug and alcohol addiction since her teenage years, added that she has since managed to regain her sobriety.
‘I can honestly say today I’m eight months sober,’ she said. ‘I have the most incredible people around me. I closed my circle because I lost a lot of friends because people don’t like sadness and they expected me to be over it.
‘I will never be over it. I will never ever be over it.’
Kelly, who has three-year-old son Sidney with Slipknot musician Sid Wilson, has previously been open about repeated periods of addiction and recovery, including revealing in 2021 that she had relapsed after almost four years sober.
At the time, she explained how a single glass of champagne had quickly escalated into heavier drinking before she got herself ‘back on track’.
She has now said that drinking and drugs were never about wanting to party but about trying to escape difficult feelings.
‘I never did drugs because I wanted a party,’ she said. ‘I never drank because I wanted a party. I just didn’t want to feel the pain.’
Kelly is now attempting to carve out a different life for herself after returning to the UK, where she spent most of her childhood before moving with her family to Los Angeles when she was 13.
