Emily Grace fundraiser in Statesboro

Fundraiser for Emily Grace in Statesboro

STATESBORO, Ga. () — The Bulloch County community remains deeply affected by the tragic event in which a 9-year-old girl lost her life at the hands of her father in what appears to be a murder-suicide on Tuesday night.

On Saturday, the community gathered to support the grieving family. A local business contributed its profits from an end-of-school bash, donating twenty percent of the proceeds to Emily’s family. Additionally, Texas Roadhouse has scheduled a similar fundraising event for Thursday.

Taylor Bunch, owner of Taylor’s Sunset Tanning, shares a close bond with the family and felt compelled to assist in alleviating their suffering. “Our community is very connected. We are always ready to support one another. There are many small businesses here, and we regularly contribute to schools and engage in sponsorships. I believe this community is exceptional at giving back.”

At Saturday’s fundraiser they also made bracelets ahead of Emily’s candlelight vigil. That’s happening Sunday in Brooklet. they tell that making bracelets was one of Emily’s favorite things to do. They’ll pass them out during the memoriam.
