Downpours continue into the work week

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida has been under the spell of tropical moisture recently, but as the work week progresses, this influence is expected to wane.

Scattered storms Monday afternoon.

Although this tropical air will still prompt scattered showers on Monday afternoon, the day is set to begin dry with a blend of sun and clouds, ideal for the morning commute. Around midday, showers and storms are anticipated to form, initially impacting areas north of Seminole County, particularly Marion, Volusia, and Flagler counties. As the afternoon progresses, these storms will move southward and eastward, with regions south of Seminole County most likely seeing these weather events during the evening commute.

Tropical moisture lingering over Central Florida.

This pattern of tropical moisture will linger until Wednesday, suggesting a likelihood of afternoon downpours, with temperatures expected to reach near 90 degrees.

Drier air expected across Central Florida for the second half of the upcoming week.

Looking ahead, the latter part of the week promises a shift. A trough of low pressure is set to introduce a backdoor cold front through Central Florida. This change will bring drier and less humid conditions, perfect for the end of the week and the beginning of the weekend. Residents can look forward to abundant sunshine, reduced humidity, and refreshing morning lows in the 60s.
