US President Donald Trump has urged a complete evacuation of the Iranian capital city of Tehran, as the conflict with Israel continues to escalate.

“Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

“Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again!

“Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

A planned set of discussions between the US and Iran for this weekend was canceled after Israel carried out several missile attacks. These strikes focused on locations and individuals linked to Iran’s nuclear program.

Trump abandoned an Obama-era nuclear agreement with Iran during his first time in 2018 and has been trying to establish a new one.

Prior to Israel’s strikes on Iran, he said he would prefer for no attack to go ahead as he was confident of reaching a “deal” with Tehran.

However, the White House has strongly emphasised its support for Israel in the days since.
