Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber were among the high-profile guests in attendance as Billie Eilish’s brother, Finneas O’Connell, married Claudia Sulewski in Santa Barbara on Saturday.
Justin, 32, later shared a series of warm, affectionate photos from the celebration on Instagram, but the couple also appeared to have a noticeably intense exchange during the wedding festivities.
Under the Southern California sunshine, the longtime husband and wife were seen speaking animatedly, with Hailey, 29, gesturing emphatically before appearing to walk away from her husband.
A representative for Hailey declined to comment on the moment, while Our News Outlet has not received a response from Justin’s representative.
Body language expert Judi James told Our News Outlet that “the way that Hailey looks back at her husband as he walks away after their animated conversation gives the impression of tension or drama here.”
James also observed that Justin’s “gently hunched posture and the way his arms hang slightly in front of his torso makes him look less motivated and less positive here.”

However, the expert added that it did not appear the two were arguing, saying: ‘Hailey has been waving her arms and pointing, although not at him so no signal of conflict.’
The couple’s attendance at the O’Connell and Sulewski wedding comes ahead of their own eight-year wedding anniversary next month.

Then, the next year they enjoyed a large-scale wedding with family and friends, later documenting the event on YouTube.
Meanwhile, the couple celebrated their son Jack Blues’s second birthday on August 22.
To mark the milestone, Hailey posted a carousel of photos with the tot on Instagram, writing in the caption, ‘our sweet baby is 2. happy birthday Jack Blues.’

In May 2025, Justin shocked fans when he volunteered the details of one of the couple’s private spats.
Sharing an image of Hailey starring on the cover of Vogue’s summer issue, he added an anecdotal Instagram caption that began, ‘Yo, this reminds me [of] when Hailey and I got into a huge fight.’
He shockingly confessed, ‘I told Hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue. Yikes. I know, so mean.’
The pop star continued oversharing, ‘For some reason, because I felt disrespected, I thought, “I gotta get even.”‘

The cringeworthy note concluded, ‘So baby, [you] already know but forgive me for saying [you] wouldn’t get a Vogue cover cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken.’
His remarks did not go over well, with thousands of his nearly 300 million Instagram followers begging him to ‘edit’ the post and calling him out for the odd admission.
He eventually swapped out the caption for a random string of emojis.
In another worrisome public post, to mark his first Father’s Day with Jack in June 2025, Justin shared a black and white selfie, writing, ‘I’m a dad that’s not to be f***ed with,’ and adding a middle finger emoji.

But this year, the mom of one celebrated the holiday warmly, honoring her husband as she shared photos of him with Jack and gushing that he is the ‘best daddy.’
The stars seem to be embracing a positive wave in their marriage this year.
The twosome have achieved power couple status – wielding their influence with back-to-back business collaborations.

Taking to Instagram after weekend one, Hailey shared footage from her husband’s duet performance of SZA’s 2022 hit Snooze.
The proud wife also posted a photo with Justin and Jack behind-the-scenes on the festival grounds.
