Apple’s interest in third-party integrations isn’t new. Last year, Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, hinted at potential partnerships with platforms like Google Gemini in the future.

CEO Tim Cook recently announced that Apple plans to launch an AI-enhanced version of Siri next year. He expressed the company’s goal of expanding collaborations, stating, “our intention is to integrate with more people over time.” During a Thursday earnings call, Cook mentioned that Apple is making “good progress” on Siri and is open to mergers and acquisitions if they align with the company’s strategic plans. This sentiment echoes Cook’s remarks from July.

The discussion coincides with Apple’s release of its fourth-quarter earnings report, which highlighted a record-breaking $102.5 billion in revenue over recent months—a notable eight percent year-over-year increase.

The iPhone 17 series likely contributed modestly to Apple’s impressive $49.03 billion in iPhone revenue. This lineup features the ultra-slim iPhone Air, alongside the upgraded iPhone 17 and 17 Pro. Significantly, Apple has introduced features previously exclusive to its Pro models to its entry-level devices, such as an always-on display with ProMotion for smoother scrolling.

Apple’s Mac division reported revenue growth to $8.72 billion, while its iPad sales reached $6.95 billion. The company’s services sector, encompassing Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Fitness Plus, and Apple Arcade, soared to $28.8 billion in revenue.

Update, October 30th: Additional insights from Tim Cook have been included.
