The anticipation continues to build as the Powerball jackpot swells to an impressive $775 million, following yet another round without a grand prize winner. This marks the 37th time the jackpot has gone unclaimed since it was last won on September 6.

During Monday night’s draw, three lucky ticket holders came tantalizingly close, matching the first five numbers to secure a $1 million prize each. However, these winners, hailing from California, Georgia, and Illinois, missed out on the ultimate Powerball number needed to clinch the jackpot.

The upcoming draw on Wednesday promises to be a momentous occasion, as it positions itself as one of the top ten largest jackpots in Powerball’s storied history. Should someone win, it would mark the second-largest Powerball prize this year. This follows on the heels of September’s remarkable $1.8 billion jackpot, which was shared between winners in Missouri and Texas, ranking as the second-highest in U.S. lottery history.

The record for consecutive draws without a jackpot win was recently reset at 42, setting a new precedent in Powerball’s legacy. This streak came to a halt on September 6 when the Missouri and Texas ticket holders defied the daunting odds of 1 in 292.2 million.

While this year has been punctuated by several significant wins, none have eclipsed the monumental $2.04 billion jackpot claimed in California in November 2022. Nonetheless, 2023 has already witnessed three substantial Powerball victories: the aforementioned $1.787 billion in September, a $526.5 million win in California in March, and a $328.5 million prize scooped up in Oregon in January.

The largest Powerball jackpot remains $2.04 billion, won in California in November 2022. This year has seen three major Powerball wins: the record $1.787 billion September prize, a $526.5 million jackpot claimed in California in March and a $328.5 million prize won in Oregon in January.
