Emergency teams quickly mobilized on Tuesday afternoon following a plane crash involving 11 people just off Florida’s coast.
The Southeast Division of the U.S. Coast Guard is conducting an active search for the aircraft, which went down approximately 80 miles from Melbourne.
While the cause of the crash is still unclear, the FOX Forecast Center noted there were storms in the area at the time of the incident.
According to the National Weather Service, conditions in Melbourne, Florida, included winds at 17 mph, a high likelihood of thunderstorms and showers, and an 80% chance of rain.
The Coast Guard has reported that all 11 individuals have been located and are being transported to medical personnel for assessment.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) informed FOX 35, one of our affiliates, that the plane was en route between islands in the Bahamas when it crashed. An investigation into the cause is ongoing.
Everyone onboard the plane has been taken to the hospital for treatment, according to Brevard County officials.
