Iran’s top diplomat has unveiled new insights into the operation that led to the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, shedding light on the precision and strategy involved in the joint U.S.-Israeli mission known as Operation Epic Fury. On Sunday, counterterrorism experts highlighted these revelations as among the clearest indications of the operation’s calculated execution.
In a recent television interview, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi provided details that underscore a key element of former President Donald Trump’s national security approach: executing a targeted strike on a hostile regime while simultaneously offering a pathway to de-escalate tensions.
“The building where we were located was hit, but our section remained intact as the other side was completely destroyed,” Araghchi stated during his appearance on Al Mayadeen, a Lebanon-based network affiliated with Hezbollah, on June 4.
Araghchi, who survived the February 28 attack because he was in a different part of Khamenei’s compound, elaborated on the circumstances of Khamenei’s presence in his office and how others managed to survive the assault.
