Israel is working to ‘crush’ Iran, defense minister says

Defense Minister Israel Katz declared on Tuesday that the Israel Defense Forces have “decapitated the Iranian octopus” and are now focused on “dismantling its tentacles.”

On Monday night, Israeli Air Force fighter jets launched powerful strikes on targets linked to the Islamic regime. The strikes are part of ongoing efforts to “degrade missile-launch capabilities and strategic assets throughout Iran,” as stated in a recent announcement.

Katz described the joint Israeli-American offensive against Iran, spearheaded by U.S. President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as unparalleled in terms of its breadth, accuracy, and strength.

He emphasized that the operation will persist “as long as necessary,” with the aim of fully dismantling the regime’s nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities in collaboration with Washington.

Additional objectives include safeguarding the Israeli populace and U.S. military personnel in the region, as well as fostering conditions that empower the Iranian people to “overthrow the brutal, oppressive regime of the ayatollahs,” Katz stated.

The Israeli and U.S. forces executed preemptive airstrikes against the Islamic Republic on Saturday morning, intending to neutralize threats from Tehran. The initial attack in this aerial campaign, termed “Operation Rising Lion” by Jerusalem, resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The Israeli and U.S. militaries carried out preemptive airstrikes targeting the Islamic Republic on Saturday morning to neutralize the threat posed by Tehran, killing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in the opening shot of the aerial campaign that Jerusalem dubbed “Operation Rising Lion.”

As of Monday afternoon, IAF fighter jets had dropped a total of some 2,500 munitions on more than 600 regime targets in Iran.
