If you ask Joy Behar, it’s time to put close out the apps and hit up the office if you’re looking for a date. The View co-host suggested on today’s episode that team building and increased productivity are not the true perks of heading back to work. Instead, she said, people should return to in-person workdays so they can spark up an office romance.

During a conversation about Elon Musk‘s mandate that Tesla employees return to in-person work 40 hours per week, Behar slammed the CEO as a “self-important bore” who should “go into space,” but seemed to agree with Musk’s approach to getting employees back in the office.

“People need to go back to work because, where else are you going to meet somebody, you know what I mean?” Behar said. “Not everybody can go on Tinder, and whatever else people are doing. This is where you meet people.”

Behar, who has been married to husband Steve Janowitz since 2011, revealed on a March 2020 episode of The View that she first met her husband at a “semi-nudist colony.” Doesn’t sound like work to me!

Sunny Hostin immediately disagreed with Behar’s take on office romances, which she panned as “career suicide.” Hostin asked, “What happens, Joy, when you break up? And then you’ve got to look at the person’s face?”

But Behar was unfazed, cheekily replying, “So what? Look at all the fun you’ve had before that!” She then clarified her point, telling the audience, “I’m not saying you should sleep with your boss, ’cause that’s really a deal-breaker. But when you have two adults who are on the same level and you’re having a good time with each other, go for it.”

Hostin, pushing back again, said, “But then you break up,” but Behar wouldn’t sway, shooting back, “Well, you break up, that’s life, Sunny. That’s life in the big city.”

You heard her, everyone: COVID may be in the air at the office, but so is love!

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
