Dear readers, ready your fans and fainting couches — the ton’s scandal sheet just became more extensive. Netflix has officially renewed Bridgerton for a fifth and sixth season, confirming our suspicions: this upscale drama is not slowing down anytime soon.

And yes, Season 4 is happening — but you’ll have to hang tight until 2026 to see it.

The series, drawing from Julia Quinn’s cherished novels, continues to enchant, with Netflix now planning to adapt at least six of the eight Bridgerton sibling romance tales. This signifies that we’re halfway through the Shonda Rhimes-produced romance phenomenon, which has been delivering corset-laden intrigue and romance since 2020.

The announcement was made during Netflix’s upfront presentation, where advertisers and a few fortunate fans glimpsed Season 4, featuring Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton and newcomer Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek. In the preview, chemistry ignites—or more accurately, flutters—at a masquerade ball, naturally. Love at first masked encounter? We’re all in.

Quick refresher: Season 3 (which hit in two parts in May and June 2024) gave the spotlight to Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Season 2 centered on Anthony and Kate (Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley), and the show’s steamy debut paired Daphne and Simon (Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page).

Still waiting their turn in the romantic spotlight: Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth Bridgerton — so there’s plenty more ballrooms, drama, and Lady Whistledown gossip to come.

As for Season 4’s cast, it’s a stacked guest list. Alongside Thompson and Ha, returning favorites include Bailey, Coughlan, Ashley, Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Claudia Jessie (Eloise), and the iconic voice of Julie Andrews as Lady Whistledown. New to the ton? Isabella Wei, Michelle Mao, and Katie Leung join as Sophie Baek’s less-than-wicked stepsisters and stepmother.

Behind the scenes, Jess Brownell continues to helm as showrunner, with Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and original series creator Chris Van Dusen serving as executive producers.

Bridgerton’s reign is far from over — and if you thought the balls, drama, and scandal were dramatic before, just wait. See Netflix’s official announcement (and sneak peek) below.
