A young father from Brooklyn was tragically shot dead on Saturday night while he was on his way to pick up his 9-year-old daughter from a local beauty salon — and the person responsible has not yet been apprehended.
Jahshyim Whitfield, aged 27, was on route to collect his daughter in Clinton Hill shortly before 9:30 p.m. when he was shot in the torso and left dying on the pavement, according to police and family members.
The father of two was rushed to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“My firstborn is gone. My son is gone,” said the devastated grandmother, Evelyn Whitefield, to The Post on Sunday. “He didn’t call me grandma, he called me ‘Ma.’ He preferred coming to my house over his own mother’s. He loved grandma’s cooking.”
Relatives said Whitfield, who worked as a security guard, doted over his two girls — Ariana, 9, and Kay Lani, 4 — and was on his way to pick up his older daughter at the beauty parlor when he was shot.
“He was a great father. That’s what he cared about, his family,” a woman identifying herself as Whitfield’s aunt told The Post Sunday. “He was a devoted father and while they took him, his daughter was spending his whole summer with him.

“Her life is going to be different forever,” she said of Ariana.
An NYPD spokesperson said the shooting is under investigation, and cops have not revealed a possible motive for the fatal encounter — nor have they nabbed they nabbed the culprit.
