Manchester United are set to mark their Champions League comeback at Old Trafford against tournament debutants Sabah, while Arsenal and Liverpool have been handed eye-catching opening fixtures against Napoli and Atletico Madrid.
All five Premier League clubs involved learned their league-phase opponents in Thursday’s Champions League draw, before UEFA released the complete match schedule on Saturday.
Aston Villa will be the first English team to get their European campaign underway, travelling to Club Brugge on September 8 for a 5.45pm kick-off.
Liverpool then open their Champions League schedule the following night with an 8pm clash against Atletico Madrid at Anfield, while Arsenal head to Italy to face Napoli at the same time.
Manchester United begin their campaign on Thursday, September 10, as Michael Carrick’s team host Azerbaijan side Sabah in their first Champions League fixture back at Old Trafford.

Man United face a tough trip to face Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid in the second matchday on October 13, before an eye-catching trip to face debutants Como on October 21.
A blockbuster clash with Bayern Munich on January 20 at Old Trafford is among the standout fixtures for the Red Devils, who wrap up the league phase away against Villarreal.
Last year’s runners-up Arsenal face Bayern Munich away on October 21 in one of their biggest matches.
The Gunners also meet Borussia Dortmund at home on November 24 and Real Madrid on December 9.
Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool side arguably begin their league phase with one of their toughest fixtures against Atletico Madrid.
A trip to the San Siro to face Inter Milan is another standout tie, which falls on the penultimate week of matches on January 19.
Highlights of Man City’s campaign include welcoming two-time defending champions Paris Saint-Germain to the Etihad on October 14.
Enzo Maresca’s side also travel to the Nou Camp to take on Barcelona on December 8, before wrapping up their campaign against Sporting Lisbon on January 27.

Europa League winners Aston Villa also travel to Barcelona to meet the Spanish champions on November 3.
Unai Emery’s side will host PSG in a repeat of the UEFA Super Cup final on December 8.
After matchday eight, the top eight teams will automatically progress to the last 16 while those placed between ninth and 24th will contest a play-off round.
Clubs 25th and below will be eliminated.
