The summer transfer window is officially open until September 1, setting the stage for weeks of negotiations, late twists and major moves as clubs race to strengthen their squads before the new season.

Hammers knocked back in Parrott pursuit
West Ham have seen their first offer for AZ Alkmaar forward Troy Parrott turned down as they look to add more firepower to their attack.
RB Leipzig have also made contact with Alkmaar in recent days, but West Ham are understood to be further along in the process at this stage.
The Hammers are also assessing a possible move for Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, while they have made an approach to free agent striker Jamie Vardy.
Toon close on Hojbjerg
Newcastle and Marseille are continuing discussions as they move closer to an agreement on a £12million deal for midfielder Pierre Emile Hojbjerg.
As Daily Mail Sport reported on Friday, talks had already started with the Denmark international as Newcastle seek to replace the midfield quality lost following Sandro Tonali’s move to Tottenham and Bruno Guimaraes’ switch to Arsenal.
The 31-year-old is seen as a seasoned presence who could help steer the younger players Newcastle have brought into the squad.
They had spoken to Bayern Munich’s Joao Palhinha as a back-up option but Hojbjerg is keen to make the move and all is progressing.
Danish media Tipsbladet say the deal will be wrapped up this week.
Palace keen on Khalaili
Crystal Palace have held talks over a deal for Union Saint-Gilloise right wing-back Anan Khalaili.
The Israeli international saw a £21million move to Inter Milan collapse over a medical issue but has had a number of clubs enquiring since.
Charles edges closer to Fulham switch
Shea Charles is undergoing his Fulham medical this morning ahead of his £30million transfer from Southampton.
Fulham have agreed to pay £27m with a further £3m in add-ons for the 22-year-old after Manchester City declined their option to activate matching rights.
Southampton retain a 20 per cent sell-on while Charles has agreed a five-year deal with an option for a further year.
McNeil and Johnson undergo medicals
Dwight McNeil and Brennan Johnson have been given permission to undergo medicals ahead of their respective swap deal to Everton and Crystal Palace.

McNeil nearly joined Palace on Deadline Day in January, but the £20m move broke down due to paperwork not being submitted in time.
Johnson has struggled to settle at Palace since joining from Tottenham for £35m in January. Everton have also held an interest in Johnson in previous windows.

Hammers approach Vardy
West Ham are among a number of clubs to have approached free agent Jamie Vardy.
The Hammers see the former England man as an option if they fail to prise Troy Parrott from AZ Alkmaar.
Vardy, 39, is determined to take his time over his next move as there was a feeling he rushed a family decision to join Cremonese last year despite the value of the experience.

New Fox Franco
Leicester have signed goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli on a free transfer from Blackpool.
The 27-year-old has signed a three-year contract at the King Power.
Blackpool are signing Middlesbrough defender Finley Munroe on loan.
City running rule over Rulli
Marseille goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli is undergoing a medical at Manchester City after the clubs agreed a £1.75million deal.
Rulli, who is set to sign a two-year deal at the Etihad, joins as a replacement for James Trafford, who completed a club-record move to Leeds for £45million.
Rulli has been identified by City as the man to provide backup to Gianluigi Donnarumma next season.
Araujo completes medical
Ronald Araujo has completed his Liverpool medical ahead of completing a loan move from Barcelona.
The 27-year-old’s signing is expected to be announced this afternoon.
The Uruguay defender’s loan also includes an option to buy for around £47.1m.
Villa keep tabs on Endrick
Aston Villa are among the growing list of clubs interested in taking Endrick on loan from Real Madrid. The 20-year-old joined Madrid from Palmeiras for £50m in 2024.

Masuaku closes on Turkey move
Sunderland defender Arthur Masuaku is finalising finalise his move to Konyaspor, in Turkey. A deal between the clubs was agreed over the weekend.
Masuaku joined Sunderland last summer and spent the second half of last season on loan at Lens.
Belgian club Mechelen have agreed a deal to sign Sunderland defender Leo Hjelde.
Sunderland are showing interest in Ipswich goalkeeper Alex Palmer.

The 29-year-old has emerged as an option for Regis Le Bris’ side with Anthony Patterson expected to undergo a medical at Wrexham after the clubs agreed a fee around £8m.
Palmer is also on Wrexham’s radar should a deal for Patterson fall down.
Sunderland face Ipswich on the opening day of the season.
Ipswich are among the clubs interested in Newcastle’s Nick Pope.
Villa on hunt for MacPhee replacement
Burnley set-piece coach Pal Fjelde is in talks to join Aston Villa.
Villa lost Austin MacPhee to Chelsea last month and 32-year-old Fjelde would be his replacement.
Fjelde joined Burnley last year and has also been his home country of Norway’s set piece coach since June 2022.
