LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. ( ) — On Monday, the Liberty County School superintendent said goodbye to students, staff, and parents as he concluded his tenure.

Franklin Perry, PhD, began his journey with the Liberty County School System (LCSS) as superintendent in 2018. He expressed that serving in this capacity has been the pinnacle of his career.

“I am proud to say that we have accomplished much more than I could imagine, made meaningful progress, and left the district in a stronger place,” Perry reflected.

He thanked the LCSS parents for their support and students for “consistently exceeding expectations and exemplifying Excellence in Everything” they did.

Debra Frazier was appointed as the interim superintendent by the Board of Education.

“I encourage everyone to give her your full support as she steps into this important role,” Perry said. “When the Board selects a permanent Superintendent, I also encourage you to support him or her in moving the district forward.”

Even though he is retiring, Perry said he will remain in the area and be available if anyone needs help.
