A significant altercation erupted during a vigil for Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old political activist who was tragically killed at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, as shown in video footage.

The brawl erupted in front of the Idaho state Capitol in Boise the evening of Kirk’s killing, local reports said.

An individual wearing a white T-shirt and a brightly colored backpack is said to have incited anger among the participants by shouting derogatory remarks about Kirk while riding a Lime bike.

Police later identified him as 41-year-old Terry Wilson, a local Black Lives Matter activist, according to KIVI.

Ayala was also booked into the Ada County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace, the station reported.

The Boise Police Department (BPD) communicated the next day that ensuring safety remains their top concern as the community gathers for various remembrance events, including those for 9/11 and Kirk.

“Today, as our community comes together for 9/11 memorials, other activities, and candlelight vigils, we at the Boise Police Department will ensure a strong and visible presence,” the department stated in a post the day after the incident. “Given the incidents in Utah and the assassination of Charlie Kirk, our officers are collaborating closely with event organizers to guarantee safe and secure settings for all attendees. Public safety continues to be our utmost priority.”

Local reports indicate that Wilson has a past involvement in activism and has faced previous arrests. In 2021, he was allegedly detained for defacing the “Seated Lincoln” statue in Julia Davis Park by covering it with paint and feces and placing improvised signs on it.

He was sentenced to 32 hours of community service and ordered to pay the city $91.96 in restitution, KIVI added.

BPD did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
