General Hospital star Kirsten Storms revealed that she’s scheduled to undergo brain aneurysm coiling procedure ‘sometime in the next two weeks.’

The Daytime Emmy nominee, aged 41, is set to undergo a procedure where her ‘highly skilled surgeon’ will insert a flexible wire through a catheter. This procedure aims to isolate the brain aneurysm from the artery, as explained by the Mayo Clinic.

Her journey started in 2021 when Kirsten had a craniotomy to remove a brain cyst. A follow-up scan in January left her shocked when a doctor found a new cyst near her brain stem.

‘I’m sharing this because despite the challenges with my brain, it helps me realize that everyone goes through tough times,’ Storms shared on Monday.

‘If we can, we will do our best to do what is best for ourselves and loved ones.’

In July, she relocated from LA to St. Louis, MO, where her former husband Brandon Barash hails from, and where they co-parent their 11-year-old daughter Harper Rose.

‘It was clear I needed [to] change some things in my life ASAP,’ Kirsten – who boasts 780K social media followers – explained.

‘Moving away from Los Angeles was crucial for personal reasons. Prioritizing Harper was a major factor, but it also benefited my physical, mental health, and overall happiness.’

Storms divorced her 46-year-old castmate-turned-husband in 2016 after two years of marriage, and he went on to wed their daughter’s teacher Isabella Devoto in 2022.

The 5ft3in blonde gave a shout out to her ‘glorious’ castmate-turned-BFF Emme Rylan, with whom she runs a crochet sweater company, Kirsten and Emme.

‘Did you guys know that Emme was by my side every single day during my 2021 craniotomy and hospital recovery?’ Kirsten recalled.

‘I remember waking up in the ICU right after my procedure and the first thing she said was, “How are you? Do you still love yarn?!” My neurosurgeon did give a chuckle to that joke.’

It all began in 2021 when Kirsten underwent a craniotomy to remove a brain cyst, and during a follow-up scan in January, she was 'majorly freaked out' when the doctor discovered a 'squatter' cyst on the right side of her brain stem (pictured April 29)
