Epstein stashed photos and hard drives in storage units

Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier, reportedly concealed hard drives and photographs in several storage units across the United States, according to recent revelations.

An investigation by The Telegraph uncovered that Epstein rented at least six storage units, primarily located in Florida, spending thousands of dollars from 2003 to 2019.

These storage units were overlooked by U.S. authorities, possibly holding evidence that could shed new light on Epstein’s extensive criminal activities.

The Telegraph sourced files and credit card records that revealed Epstein’s hidden caches of computers, CDs, images, and documents.

These secret storage locations might offer insights into suspicions that Epstein had advanced warnings of law enforcement raids on his properties.

Former Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter shared with NBC that during a 2005 search, Epstein’s residence appeared suspiciously sanitized.

Epstein allegedly recruited detectives to move documents, photographs and computers to one of his multiple storage lockers.

Uncovered credit card statements suggested that he paid private detective agency Riley Kiraly $38,500 from January to May 2010 alone.

Storage contents included computers from his private Caribbean island, Little Saint James, which investigators were reportedly told to move and wipe.

Staff discussed taking computers and CDs from his private island and placing them in secret vaults.

Emails revealed with the Department of Justice’s latest releases made mention of storage unit transfers between Epstein and his associates.

In August 2009, a representative for the private detective agency Riley Kiraly asked Epstein for advice on what to do with the contents locked in a unit.

‘Over the weekend I learned that plaintiff’s counsel are looking to get from me the computers and paperwork I took from Jeff’s house prior to the Search Warrant,’ it read.

‘I have them locked in storage and would like to know what to do with them. They are no longer needed in the criminal case, I assume. Is it possible to give you these items for your review and safekeeping or give it to Darren Indyke [Epstein’s lawyer] or back to Jeff, etc.?’

In 2009, Epstein emailed Bill Riley, of Riley Kiraly, asking about an unnamed person’s picture.

‘You were going to send me a copy of [redacted’s] picture,’ Epstein said.

‘I thought I had a copy of it on my computer but it is in storage with everything else. I will get it out next time I go to the storage unit,’ Riley replied.

Florida units were traced just miles from his Sunshine State home outside of Palm Beach and Delray Beach.

Epstein began leasing one locker at Uncle Bob’s in Florida in 2003, paying $374.13 per month until March 2015. Smaller payments continued until 2016.

At least one Florida unit, which he used between 2009 and 2011, was accessible to patrons 24 hours a day and was capable of storing vehicles.

Payments pointed to more units in Florida, which Epstein leased across a decade.

One detailed monthly payment of $140 for a Royal Palm Beach location until 2019.

He also asked Riley Kiraly investigators to rent out a unit on his behalf in New York beginning in 2010 at around $500 per month.

Another unit, just five minutes from his New York City mansion, mainly contained furniture, equipment and computers.

Pictures taken by staff in 2012 from one of the units showed furniture and cardboard boxes jammed in the cluttered unit.

Files also suggested Epstein was interested in a ‘secret storage unit’ near his New Mexico ranch.

Epstein owned five properties in the United States and France.

Photographs taken in 2019 of police raids showed that many had additional sprawling storage spaces, which begs the question of why Epstein needed additional hiding places.

It’s unclear what happened to the contents of each unit after Epstein died by suicide in 2019.

In Florida, storage facility owners can auction off abandoned materials after 90 days without payment.
