Keith Urban showcased a cheerful disposition as he attended The Power of Music and A Mission event in Nashville on Thursday.

This marked his first public outing since rumors surfaced about his former spouse Nicole Kidman’s budding relationship with Simon Baker, which sources say left the country star feeling distraught.

However, Urban’s spirited presence at the charity event, aimed at raising funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, suggested otherwise.

At 58, Urban was celebrated with the Angels Among Us Award and engaged in a conversation with moderator Gator Harrison, discussing his long-standing commitment to supporting the pediatric research and treatment center in Memphis, Tennessee.

Dressed in knee-ripped jeans topped with a black jacket and T-shirt, Urban exuded an air of positivity.

Notably absent was the wedding ring he had worn throughout his nearly two-decade marriage to Kidman.

Urban was clean-shaven and wore his brown hair parted in the center and sporting its usual side flip.

Later during the show, Urban performed a song on his guitar, closing his eyes at one point as the music seemed to move him.

His appearance comes over two months since he and the Moulin Rouge! star finalized their divorce, and just days after Kidman was said to be getting very close to her Scarpetta co-star Simon Baker.

The actress and Baker, who play a married couple on the new Amazon Prime series, were seen holding hands and smiling broadly at the show’s New York premiere on March 3.

At the event, Kidman, 58, admitted that their chemistry ‘just vibrates,’ while Baker, 56, teasingly added, ‘I don’t kiss and tell.’

Urban is said to be reeling over the revelation that his ex-wife appears to be moving on.

‘Seeing Nicole and Simon holding hands was the equivalent of seeing his best mate with his missus, and it did a number on him,’ an insider told this week’s Woman’s Day magazine.

‘He knew it was natural for her to lean on Simon – he was also there for Naomi Watts after her split from Liev [Schreiber].’

The source added that Urban was seriously hoping that Kidman and Baker were just playing for the cameras because it would devastate him if they were genuinely an item.

‘Keith is hoping they’re just hamming it up for headlines. But even then it feels to him like it’s a betrayal because both Nicole and Simon know how much even the hint of a romance between them will hurt him,’ said the source.

‘He already suspected they were getting close while filming. This has become his worst nightmare.’

Kidman and her handsome blond co-star stayed by each other’s side throughout the night while at the premiere.

The Babygirl actress has been close to Baker for decades, and is also good friends with his ex-wife Rebecca Rigg, from whom he separated in 2020.

Back in January, it was reported that Kidman’s friends had encouraged her to date another A-lister, including Naomi Watts.
